Shot peening is a surface enhancement in which metal is bombarded with a variety of media “also known as shot.” The process is used to harden the surface which applies a residual compressive layer on the metal surface. – Media types include sheet, cut wire, glass bead and ceramic bead.

Nitor Technologies is an R&D “skunk works” type company focused on researching, developing testing, and manufacturing electronic circuit board systems. Nitor currently works with General Electric, an Ohio based medical equipment company, and is developing specialized circuit boards for the over-the-road crane industry.

Nitor has also developed a patented product, the PROWLER (Protect & Reclaim our Water, Land and Environmental Resources), engineered for detecting leaks from pipelines, underground storage tanks and fuel hydrant systems. The system operates by detecting the vapors that that mitigate through soil and other media, from the leak source to a patented sensor tube, which captures a sample of the vapors through diffusion.
